OAKVILLE, ON - Festival Quattro, an ArtHouse initiative in partnership with the YMCA of Oakville is thrilled to announce the Canadian premiere performance of Young Romance, a musical mosaic capturing the raw emotions of artistic drive and early love presented by the internationally-recognized Dr. Eugene Draw Ensemble. The performance will take place on October 2 at the YMCA of Oakville and proceeds will benefit ArtHouse and the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
Don Pangman, ArtHouse and Festival Quattro founder is truly excited, “Nothing like this has ever happened in Oakville before. It will be a spectacular evening filled with music, art and dance.”
The inspiration for Young Romance comes from the desire and passion felt by young artists to prove themselves and it draws a parallel between these feelings and the intense emotions of first love.
Dr. Draw is known for his original musical compositions that defy singular classification and for his high-energy electric violin concerts. For Young Romance he has assembled a collection of talented musicians and enchanting dancers led by highly-acclaimed Canadian choreographer Siona Jackson. The end result is a performance that will engage and thrill audiences of all ages.
In addition to the activities on stage, the in2art Gallery will be presenting the works of a number of local artists, and popular graffiti artist Calum McInnis will be creating graffiti art to coincide with the performance.
“The YMCA helps youth develop in spirit, mind and body,” said Darryl McKenzie, President and CEO of the YMCA of Oakville. “We recognize that artistic expression plays an important role in the character development of young people and we are thrilled to host a production that supports youth and the arts in Oakville.”
“ArtHouse has been the beneficiary of so many wonderful community partnerships in our very short life and we are deeply honoured to be collaborating with the YMCA to support children and youth in our community,” said Pangman.
Tickets to Festival Quattro’s Young Romance will go on sale starting September 3 and can be purchased for $20 each at the YMCA of Oakville, 410 Rebecca Street, L’Atelier Grigorian at Towne Square or through the Festival Quatrro Box Office at 905-467-8551. The performance is generously sponsored by The Invidiata Team and Metalworks Production Group.
