OAKVILLE, ON – Two of Canada’s leading educational experts will be in Oakville on May 13, 2010 to share their thoughts on the relationship between post-secondary education and business. The Hon. John Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities and Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, the new President & CEO, Sheridan Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning will be the guest speakers at a breakfast hosted by the Oakville Chamber of Commerce at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club.
“I am very excited to meet members of the Oakville business community and share my vision of how Sheridan can support this community,” commented Dr. Jeff Zabudsky.
“Sheridan is an important community partner and this institution provides a unique competitive advantage for Oakville. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to introduce Dr. Zabudsky to the local business community. We are equally fortunate that John Milloy will also be in attendance,” commented Sonny Jelinek, Chair of the Oakville Chamber Board. “Our members are interested to learn their inside perspective on how best to align post-secondary education and business.”
The Hon. John Milloy was appointed as the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities in 2007. In 2009, Milloy was also appointed as Minister of Research and Innovation. Milloy holds a BA (Honours) in History from Carleton University, a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and a doctorate in Modern History from the University of Oxford where he was a commonwealth scholar.
Dr Jeff Zabudsky comes to Sheridan having served as President and CEO of Manitoba’s Red River College since 2004. Zabudsky brings almost 25 years experience in post-secondary educational administration and in educational broadcasting. He holds a PhD in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Alberta, a Master’s degree in Distance Education from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Ryerson University.

The date is Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club. Registration opens at 7:30 am, with keynote presentations from 8:00 – 9:00 am. Cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Member table rate is $175 and non-member table rate is $245. GST is not included.
