It all starts in the Canadian oil sands

In 1967, during Canada’s Centennial Year, Suncor made history by pioneering commercial crude oil production from oil sands in northern Alberta. As a pioneer and leader in the oil sands industry, Suncor’s oil sands operation is a powerful engine of economic growth – locally, regionally and nationally.

Sunoco markets the refined oil products we produce from Canada’s oil sands, creating a direct connection between oil produced in northern Alberta to the gasoline and diesel fuel used by Ontario consumers.
