Mike Weir Charity Classic at the 2009 RBC Canadian Open

The inaugural Mike Weir Charity Classic has been added to the lineup of tournament week activities as part of the 100th playing of the RBC Canadian Open. The Charity Classic will be held on July 20th, 2009 starting at 12:00pm.

The Event

This pro-am will feature marquee celebrities from the music, sports and entertainment industries, as well at top stars on the PGA TOUR. Mike Weir has reached out to some very notable personalities.

Commitment

Key to the strategy of rebuilding the RBC Canadian Open was a joint RBC/RCGA commitment to generating $5 Million for children’s wellness over the first five years of RBC’s sponsorship. With 100% of the net proceeds from the Mike Weir Charity Classic benefiting children’s charities, this new event will assist in achieving and surpassing the objective.
