Whole Foods Market Oakville, their customers and team members, raised $30,013 for the Oakville Fareshare Foodbank during the holiday season, helping to alleviate hunger this winter for those in need. A Customer Appreciation Breakfast was hosted by Whole Foods Market Oakville with special guest, Dudley Clark from the Fareshare Foodbank, helping to serve the delicious pancakes, pour the fresh maple syrup and a welcome cup of coffee. Shoppers were invited to enjoy breakfast as a special thank-you for their generosity and support during the Fareshare Foodbank Drive.

For you shoppers who loved the pancakes and would appreciate being able to duplicate them in the comfort of your home, Whole Foods Market Oakville is delighted to share the secret of these delicious pancakes; Pamela’s Baking & Pancake Mix, wheat-free & gluten free and made with natural ingredients.
Whole Foods Market Oakville gave shoppers the opportunity to donate money throughout the holidays at the cash registers through their Grab and Give program. “This is the third year we’ve offered the program and we are overwhelmed by our customers and Team Members generosity”, says France Fournier, Community Relations Specialist for Whole Foods Market.
A large portion of the money pays for vouchers provided to families with children to obtain items such as milk, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables. “Monetary donations are vital to our existence,” says Dudley Clarke, of the Fareshare Foodbank. “We need it to buy perishable food such as ground beef, chicken and fish and other nutritious items not generally donated to foodbanks.” Depending solely on the generosity of the Oakville community and with no government funding, the Fareshare Foodbank, located at 1240 Speers Road, Unit #6 in Oakville, is run entirely by volunteers and in an average month will serve 357 families. (Approximately 1200 people)
Actively supporting the community is one of Whole Foods Market’s core values. “We are extremely proud of our involvement and thrilled to partner with the Oakville Fareshare Foodbank,” said Tyron Goss, Whole Foods Market Oakville Store Team Leader. “Response from our customers to the Fareshare Foodbank is always supportive and speaks to their generosity and the belief that no one should go hungry.”
