Valleyridge Park is probably the best park in Oakville for families with children under 10 years old. The park is on Valleyridge road off from Dundas Street W and is located in the Westoak Trails neighborhood.Valleyridge Park Splashpad

Why do I say this is the best park in Oakville for families with children under 10 years old? Well the reason is my family and I gasped with joy as we pulled into the Valleyridge Park parking lot last weekend. The amenities for the park include a soccer field that is well kept and has bleachers and benches in the sidelines. There is a very modern playground with two separate play structures, along with a climbing structure and a swing set. The playground floor is made of a rubber material to protect the children from falls and scrapes.Valleyridge Park Elephant

All of the above is great but the most popular attraction at this park is the splashpad. The splashpad is very modern has a jungle theme and various timed water sprays for toddlers and bigger children alike. In between the splashpad area and the playground there is a covered cabana with 2 picnic tables for those looking for refuge from the sun. Valleyridge park has approximately 6 picnic tables and 6 benches surrounding its play structures.

Pack a picnic and head over to Valleyridge Park. Your kids will love it!

Valleyridge is one of our favourite splash pad parks as well, but as it is located west of Bronte, I don’t think it’s considered part of Westoak Trails. It’s part of Palermo, isn’t it?
There is another great park, new as of last year, I think, off Westoak Trails itself, called Westoak Trails Park, just east of Bronte. It has a Wild West theme, a great play area, and actual washrooms!
