The Toronto Lynx Soccer Club has announced that a number of their 2014 United Soccer League PDL (Premier Development League) home games will be hosted at Sheridan College in Oakville this season. Due to the planned Pan Am games refurbishment of their regular home Centennial Park Stadium (Etobicoke, ON) and the resulting limited access, the Lynx will play 6 PDL and 2 W League games at the recently modernized Oakville Sheridan campus stadium.
Through an existing long – term relationship, the Toronto Lynx and the Oakville Soccer Club are working together to ensure that local soccer enthusiasts take advantage of this opportunity to watch PDL soccer matches in their own backyard. “We are thrilled to have the Lynx and Lady Lynx playing here in Oakville, and are excited to have our players involved in game day activities and experiencing the energy and talent at this level of play,” says Dave Harris, OSC’s Executive Director. OSC’s players will have the opportunity to attend games free of charge when sporting their 2014 OSC jerseys.
2014 player announcements are expected to be re leased the week of April 28th. “As a long time Oakville resident, I am thrilled that we have managed to find such an excellent location to resolve our stadium issues for the upcoming season.
Sheridan College has been fantastic to work with,” said Duncan Wilde, Lynx Academy Director and Head Coach regarding teams’ move to Oakville for the 2014 season. The schedule for both teams is posted on the Toronto Lynx Web site at www.torontolynxsoccerclub.com. Information about the USL, teams and schedules can be found at www.uslsoccer.com.
The Lynx will open their PDL season on Sunday, May 18th with a 4pm kick off against KW United, and the Lady Lynx will open their W league campaign at Sheridan College, hosting the 2013 Championship finalist, Laval, Quebec on Sunday, May 25th at 2pm.
Tickets are $4 and can be purchased at the gate on game days.
