The MELT Godfather Sandwich
I don’t believe that there is anyone who doesn’t like a grilled cheese sandwich. It’s one of the best comfort foods regardless of how you make it and what you put in it. Some people like a plain, classic white bread with cheese.
Some like it with the crusts removed. Some prefer a heartier multigrain or whole wheat.
Some people like to add toppings galore, and some like to dip their finished sandwich in ketchup or a bowl of hot soup.
Cooked sandwiches made from bread and cheese in some form or another have actually been around since the Ancient Roman times, but the classic processed cheese and sandwich bread version is believed to have begun its popularity during World War II, when American Navy cooks made them by the thousands to feed the troops.
And undoubtedly, the best grilled cheese you’ve probably ever had was one that your mom made for you, until you’ve tried MELT Grilled Cheese.
