The Gingerman Social Eatery

Friday, February 8th, 2013

There are three words that make me drool. They are “lobster grilled cheese”, and whoever was brilliant enough to think of putting the subtle, yet distinctive lobster together with the melty goodness of grilled cheese, was a genius. When I heard that The Gingerman Social Eatery on Kerr Street served up their own mouth-watering version of this, I knew I had to try it out, and I am happy to report that it lived up to my expectations.

Kerr Street Cafe

Kerr Street Café is located at 298 Kerr Street

Last week I visited the Kerr Street Café, and ever since I have been dreaming about the insanely delicious muffin I had. I know you’re probably questioning how a muffin could invoke such desire, so let me assure you that this was no ordinary bran or banana concoction, but a culinary work of genius. A beautifully dense and moist taste sensation loaded with sweet white chocolate chips and topped with bacon. Yes – bacon. And yes – it was heavenly. My only regret was that I didn’t buy more. It’s precisely this type of forward thinking that gives the Kerr Street Café that something extra – a chef willing to take a simple muffin to the next level with diverse flavours that work together to create something magical. While this particular delight may not be on the menu every day, it’s the little unexpected things like this which make the Kerr Street Café a must.
