Ron White is known for his amazing shoe designs, his stunning All Day Heels®collection, that feel as great as they look, and his fabulous boutiques, but he should also be known for his huge heart and his dedication to giving back. 700 Dippers Braved Lake Ontario in Support of World Vision

The 28th Annual Courage Polar Bear Dip, Canada’s largest polar bear dip for charity, will help fund fresh water projects in Kahi, Rwanda, a World Vision Canada project. The day was ideal, although the temperature was frosty. The lake sparkled. The sun shone – and the snow covering Coronation Park, Oakville added to the festive and exuberant atmosphere! 700 enthusiastic Dippers were ready to plunge into the icy waters of Lake Ontario to raise funds for World Vision Canada.

As the story goes…. 28 years ago Trent and Todd Courage were teenagers with a hang-over from their New Years Eve party. Mom, Gayle Courage, likely told them to “go jump in the lake”. They did – and an idea was born! Every year since, friends and family have gone for a dip into the cold waters of Lake Ontario on New Year’s Day to raise monies for the charity of their choice, World Vision Canada. “Water for Water” has become their slogan; Fresh water for the 3000 children in Kahi, Rwanda!

Tracey & Robyn, founders of A Little Ray of Sunshine

Christmas is a time for giving and what better way is there to share the Christmas spirit than by donating to a Charity of your choice. Perhaps the Charities below will provide you with ideas for the perfect gift for you to give this Holiday Season.

“A Little Ray of Sunshine” is run by Robyn Travis and Tracey Mueller; two women who want to help improve mental health and morale by collecting donated flowers and floral arrangements from weddings, special/corporate events, funeral services, churches, grocery stores, nurseries, etc and repurpose those flowers into beautiful bouquets to be delivered to those patients that have no family, no friends, no support. They have formed a non-profit organization built on compassion for those patients less fortunate in hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers. Everything is recycled from donated vases, floral supplies and of course the flowers.
