Living in Oakville is a Good Investment

Tuesday, October 8th, 2013

When deciding to buy a home, it can be one of the most exciting and rewarding opportunities of your life. Whatever your reasons – purchasing for the first time, upsizing due to financial or familial gains, or downsizing while gearing towards retirement – rest assured that choosing Oakville is a choice well made. As a resident of the Town of Oakville for over 30 years, I have personally seen our community change and grow in so many fantastic ways. Not only is it a beautiful place to live, but it is a thriving community with a tremendous amount of social and economic growth that carefully maintains a small-town feel.

Located off the shores of beautiful Lake Ontario, our town has a strong and meaningful heritage. Known more recently for the vibrancy of its downtown core, Oakville manages to maintain a small-town feel that is loved by those who live here. Choosing to invest in the Oakville real estate market means you are investing in an exciting and economically prosperous town which is not only home to a highly respected school board, but home to amazing sports facilities, golf courses, private schools, shopping areas and a booming housing market that just continues to grow! With over 2400 acres of park space and beautiful walking trails, Oakville offers the perfect balance between an urban and rural setting. Whatever your preference, the Town of Oakville offers it!

Since 2012, the average housing price in Oakville has risen by almost 7% to $747,857.00 from $701,144.00. In an economy that has not been overly confident in our housing market over the last few years, it is clear that Oakville has not been affected, and for good reason. Located just outside Toronto, the Town of Oakville is a short commute for Toronto workers and boasts bigger homes with more property at a better value. Schools in Oakville are ranked amongst the highest in our province and the new Oakville hospital will be the most medically advanced facility in the Halton district. Our downtown core features a wide variety of boutiques and restaurants for every taste and budget while carefully maintaining the perfect balance between city chic and small town hospitality. Oakville’s uptown core also has a great feel, offering a fantastic variety of restaurants, shopping areas as well as new residential and schooling developments which has enabled Oakville to continue growing as one of the most desirable communities to live.
