Santa Claus is coming to Oakville! Our Town is preparing for his visit with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremonies, sponsored by our local BIAs, in Downtown Oakville, Kerr Village and in Bronte Harbour Village. Celebrate the lights, the charm and the magic of Oakville as the Christmas festivities begin on November 16th.
With entertainment beginning at 5pm on Friday November 16th the official lighting of Oakville’s Downtown Christmas Tree at the Towne Square will begin. Santa’s Ambassadors will be treating everyone to free apple cider and hot chocolate. The Salvation Army Band, St Andrew’s Children’s Choir and, at 7pm, an old fashioned downtown Oakville Christmas Carol sing-a-long with the Appleby College Choir followed by music by Holiday Jazz will be special parts of the evening as you enjoy the festivities and wait to see the glorious Downtown Christmas Tree come alive for the 2012 Christmas season at 7:30 pm.

Kerr Village is hosting their 18th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday November 16th on Heritage Square at Florence and Kerr from 6 to 9pm. Enjoy holiday treats from Kerr Village restaurants as Victorian Christmas Carollers stroll throughout Heritage Square charming you with Christmas music. Local school choirs will be onstage for your entertainment – sure to please, – “children of all ages”! Of course, Santa will be on hand to take your special requests! As Kerr Village welcomes the beginning of the holiday season, enjoy the gasps of wonder as the Kerr Village Tree lights up. Christmastime has begun!
The Bronte Annual Tree Lighting and Carol Sing will be celebrated on Saturday November 24th from 3-7pm at the Centriller Square Stage on the south side of Lakeshore Road just west of Bronte Road. Celebrate this festive season with family and friends in picturesque Bronte Village for a day of live entertainment, photos and dancing with Santa Claus. Intertwined into the festivities will be holiday treats and nibbles from Denningers and other local businesses. The sounds of the holiday season will fill the air with performances from the Oakville School of Music and the Tempus Choral Society. Grab a songbook and sing along! Santa and Mrs. Claus are making a special stop in Bronte to hear your wishes and to help light Bronte’s Christmas tree before heading back from Oakville to the North Pole!
A favourite always is Oakville’s Santa Claus Parade! Saturday November 17th, beginning at 9am, will see excited children, their families and friends line Lakeshore Road and Kerr Village with great anticipation and excitement! Local marching bands, costumed characters, floats of every description will be there in fine form to entertain and to support the Oakville community, presenting their very best, Oakville schools and businesses all work together to make this fine event a huge success.
