Restaurant review of Bamboo Legend in Oakville

My wife and I were introduced to Bamboo Legend quite some time ago. I am guessing it has been 2 years now. I had always been a fan of chinese food, thinking this was the most multicultural I would ever become. Boy, was I ever wrong about that. My eyes were opened for me upon entering this quaint little store front in the Foxcreek Mall at the corner of 3rd line and Hwy 5. I had been told about this wonderful Thai restaurant that we just had to sample. I had no idea what to order. The owner, Lucy, made me feel very much at home and led me through their very extensive menu. She even served me up a cup of hot tea while we were trying to decide what I should order. They have a little sign at the front door as you walk in that reads, “leave your worries at the door”. This stands true, as the aroma coming from the kitchen makes you feel very much at home. My wife likes to call it, “her oasis”.

My favorite meal is without a doubt the cashew chicken with rice. It is a little on the spicy side, if that is too your liking. It consists of a variety of fresh vegetables, chicken and cashew nuts. If my pocketbook would allow it, I would probably eat it everyday. It is really that tasty. Very moderately priced with serving sizes large enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day. My wife usually has the drunken noodle with chicken and served with a side of rice. It tastes just as good as mine, but is a little milder. The two of us can eat for about $25.00, which is amazing considering we will have almost two meals out of that.

Service has always been with a smile, and Lucy always calls her customers by name. A wonderful place to eat in or take out. She follows is her mothers footsteps, as they have another location in East Oakville on Hwy 5 and Winston Churchill, across from the Home Depot. I would, without a doubt recommend everyone try this establishment, you will not be disappointed.
