Oakville Environmental Awareness Day

The 1st Annual Environmental Awareness Day in Oakville was organised by Tim Hortons and the Oakville Chamber of Commerce with support from the Kerr Village BIA.Tim Hortons Recycling Program

To kick off the event, Tim Hortons spoke about their waste reduction program, letting the public know that they offer a 10 cent discount on all refills if you bring your own refillable cup. They also reminded the public that all Tim Hortons paper products can go into your recycle or compost bin. More information on the Tim Horton’s waste reduction program is available here.

You may have also read that Tim Hortons recently moved it’s corporate offices back to Oakville. Congratulations Tim Hortons!

Environmental Awareness Day Registration BoothThe event registrants enjoyed a great BBQ provided by M&M Meat Shops and cold drinks and donuts from Tim Horton’s.

With gloves and trash bags in hand the community carried out a clean-up along Cross Ave. and the ravine. You can see the fantastic results here!

Recycling of electronic and computer equipment was made possible by Inorganic Market and reBOOT Canada at the event.

Mayor Rob Burton at Environmental Awareness Day in OakvilleEntertainment was provided by the Toronto Argonauts cheerleaders and DJ Central.

Visitors enjoyed a display of hybrid cars presented by Oak-Land Ford and Oakville Toyota.
