Grab your skates, stick and register now—there’s a new hockey league in town! The
Town of Oakville is launching the Oakville Recreational Hockey League (ORHL) at the
state-of-the-art Sixteen Mile Sports Complex beginning October 1, 2010.

To accommodate all skill levels, the ORHL will host six divisions including
recreational, intermediate, elite, women’s, hall of fame, and champions:

  • The Recreational League is geared toward players new to hockey or who have
played at the house league level and are looking to stay fit and have fun while
    enjoying the game of hockey.
  • The Intermediate League is geared toward players with hockey experience
and who have played at the competitive level in the past. This league is faster
paced for the player looking to stay active in hockey while enjoying competition
    against talented opponents.
  • The Elite League is geared toward players that have played Professional to
AAA hockey. This league is for players looking to play competitive hockey.
  • The Women’s League is divided into two separate leagues based on the skill
level of registered players. Both a competitive tier for women who have played
hockey at a competitive level, and a recreational tier for women who are new to
hockey or with little experience are being offered.
  • The Hall of Fame League is geared toward players 40 years and older
looking to stay fit, active and play against players with similar experience.
  • The Champions League is for players 50+ looking to stay active and play
recreational hockey against players with similar experience.
  • All leagues will offer 11 guaranteed games, run with certified referees. Teams
wishing to join the league should register with a minimum 15 player team including
goalie. Individual players may also join the league and will be slotted within a
team or combined into a team based on registration numbers and openings. Team
jerseys will be provided to all registered players.

I am having a terrible time getting around these sites. I have a 6 year old grandson who THINKS he wants to play hockey. I was told of an initiation program that sounds perfect. I called OMHA and they said they only handle Halton Hills. (We live in Milton) Am I in Peel? Can you steer me anywhere?

      Hi,

I recently moved to Mississauga and I am looking for a hockey team to play with. I think I would be in the intermediate level.
I actually play in the rec league at Chic Murray arena sunday night.
I’d like to play more often, I know it’s maybe too late in the season to joint a team but I would be ready to be a substitute player for this year and see the level.

      Thanks,

      Josianne
