February is the shortest month of year. Here’s a taste of what’s going on in Oakville this month:


February 13: 9-11:30am: Ever wondered how to make chocolates? The American Women’s Club of Oakville and Chocolate Tales Inc. can show you how today at St. Paul’s United Church. It’s $20 cash at the door, including a box for each participant.

February 14: 6pm-1am: Love Your Heart Right from the Start: Bring your sweetheart out to a Valentine Dinner and Dance at Le Dome for in support of the new Oakville Hospital. Net proceeds will go directly to the Cardiology at the new Oakville Hospital to buy life-saving equipment. Tickets are $75 each and available by calling 905-845-2571 ext. 6253.

February 17: 10am-3pm- Family Day at the One-Room Palermo School House: Bring your family back in time this Family Day as the Trafalgar Township Historical Society host Family Day activities. Help decorate the school house with charms, paper snowflakes, and snowballs. Test your spelling skills in the spelling bee. For more information visit the website or contact Michelle: michell@ths.ca

February 20: 9am-11pm: Taste of Downtown Oakville- Restaurants in downtown Oakville are offering special menus until March 4. This year features Italian, South African, and French cuisine. Visit the website, or call: 905-844-4520 for more details.

February 22: 4-9pm: Coldest Night of the Year Walk: Join Kerr Street Ministries for a 2, 5, and 10 km walk to raise awareness of the cold, hungry, and homeless. Visit the website for more information on how to donate, or participate.

February 26: 6-8pm Oakville Public Library presents Wednesday Family Movie Night. Calling all families; bring blankets, pillow, and stuffed animals at the Oakville Public Library to enjoy the latest movies. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for a group of five. You can pick them in advance at all branches, or just come early. Call 905-815-2042. The central branch is located at 120 Navy St, Oakville.
