Liaison College Oakville, a Chef Training private college where you can “turn your passion for cooking into a profession”, was humming with activity.
Not only was a Sheridan College photography student working with graduates learning to take pictures of delicious Liaison College Oakville creations, a full class of chef trainees were learning to prepare for their participation in the Ultimate Chef Contest, “Dads for Dads” that will take place Saturday, March 2nd at Liuna Station Banquet Hall.
“Dads for Dads” will have about 400 guests in attendance with the proceeds supporting “Bereaved Families of Ontario.
Liaison College Oakville is pleased to sponsor the VIP room for the chefs and their guests at the Ultimate Chef Contest. Wayne Brown, co-owner of Liaison College will be one of the chefs along with dignitaries such as Mayor Rick Goldring and MP Mike Wallace. They, and 50 other celebrity chefs, will be preparing dishes sure to win the hearts of the judges and guests at the “Dads for Dads” fundraiser. Many of the Liaison College Chef Students have volunteered to take part, collecting the Chef’s creations, transporting their trays of food to the coolers in the Liuna kitchen and later re-heating and serving the delicious food samples to the guests.

In the words of Zackery Hobler, “I’m studying at Sheridan College for my Bachelor of Arts in photography. I’m an aspiring food and portrait photographer. I really enjoy working with the great folks at Liaison! They’ve been so helpful in getting me involved with food photography!” Zackery was taking pictures for a Liaison graduate, Cheryl Leeflang, now the owner of Tripods and Pans. She has branched out with the help of Liaison College. She says, “My focus is on recipe development, food styling and food photography. My services help those in the food industry to enhance their product by developing original recipes for the use of their product and by providing beautiful food photography for online and print media such as websites, recipe cards, cookbooks and brochures. Email cheryl@tripodsandpans.com for more information.”
