Cause for Paws is back at 7 PM, June 24, 2010 at Appleby College for its ninth annual event to mark the official beginning of the Summer Season. This year’s Martini party and auction will feature the award winning world music artist Johannes Linstead.

“We are really excited to announce that Johannes Linstead will be performing at this year’s Cause for Paws fundraiser,” said event chair Beverlie Rockliffe. “We have a lot going on this year with a live auction of items including a BBQ dinner for eight at your home by the Toronto Firefighters from the 2010 Toronto Firefighter Calendar, a Michael Bublé concert package including dinner for his sold out August 11 show.”

Other auction lots include a week at the Four Seasons resort in Scottsdale Arizona, a gift certificate for a foursome at the Lake Joseph Golf Club, a private in home wine tasting for 25 guests, at home dinner, an amazing steak and salmon BBQ package from one of Oakville’s finest restaurants, a ten course tasting menu with matching wines for eight in the wine cellar of one of Oakville’s loveliest restaurants, and a five night mountain side chalet accommodation and four day ski pass package to Big White including air transportation.

Annette Hamm of CHCH TV’s Morning Live and Erin Alvarez of CTS’s Always Good News will co-MC Cause for Paws.

The event will be catered by the chefs of Appleby College, Jennifer’s Kitchen and an Olde Fashioned Butchery and Seafood. The Martini bar will be run by JAM Martini Bar, Vinexx will have a fine selection of vintages for the wine bar and the beer garden will offer domestic and imported varieties.

Tickets are $25 in advance available through local retailers listed on
www.causeforpawsoakville.com and also at the gate.

Last year over 350 guests attended Cause for Paws and raised more than $52,000 net for the Oakville Humane Society for projects such as the care, rehabilitation and training of abandoned and abused animals. This annual event was inaugurated through the formation of Cause for Paws by the founders of the R-Dog Leash Free Post Park, the first of its kind in Oakville.
