Looking for something fun to do to celebrate Halloween in Oakville? Check out our round up of local events to help get you in the spirit this year.

Fun for all ages and perfect for your daily dose of exercise – why not check out the Ghost Walks hosted by the Oakville Historical Society. Join the Society volunteers for a guided walk around the oldest part of Town and hear about some of Oakville’s ghosts and haunted happenings. Perhaps you’ll see a spirit or two on your walk! The walks start at 110 King St. and last about an hour. Adults are $14 and children under 12 are $6. For dates and times check out the Oakville Historical Society website.

How about trick or treating around the campground at Bronte Creek Provincial Park? On October 22nd, ghosts and goblins will go from site to site instead of door to door. Get in the spirit as campers decorate their site and join a guided walk to learn about creepy creatures and howling coyotes! Get grossed out at the Oakville Public Library Glen Abbey Branch on October 27thfrom 1 – 2:30 pm. For $12, ‘Halloween Grossology’ explores the world of fake boogers, blood, slime, witches brew and total “yuckiness”. Kids aged 10-13 can test their knowledge of all things creepy at the Halloween Trivia Night on October 30th from 6 – 8 pm at the the Central Branch. Also on October 27th, check out the Halloween Happenings on Kerr St. between Lakeshore and Rebecca. The daylong event includes a not so scary KidsZone including a scavenger hunt, bouncy castles, face painting and live entertainment. Tweens, teens and adults will experience a frightful walk through the Haunted House of Horrors—if they’re brave enough to enter the ScareZone. Kids of all ages are invited to participate in the Nightmare on Kerr Street skateboarding competition. Live musical performances are scheduled throughout the day.

Bring your whole family out for an afternoon of Halloween fun at the Oakville Museum Masquerade Party on Sunday October 28th. Wear your costume and enjoy games, contests, a magic lantern show and make a historically inspired mask. The festivities run from 1 – 4 pm for $5/person at the Oakville Museum. Don’t miss the annual Tiny Tots parade on October 31st at 10 am at the Town Square. Scary ghosts and goblins walk the town for a safe and entertaining event hosted by the merchants of Downtown Oakville.

    Hello Jillian I just thought I would bring to your attention an event within an event. Oakville Cycles will be having the inagular Kidical Mass. Ride starting @ 10.00 am from Lions pool on Felan Ave and Rebecca a ride encouraged towards children in safe Halloween costumes and helmets. And parents alike.
