Veteran Fishing Derby Winner 2011
Support our Military Veterans! Raising funds for the Military Families Resource Centres located across Canada, The Colonel Geoff Parker Memorial Gala Dinner, Fundraiser and Auction on June 27th is being held at the Oakville Harbour Banquet and Conference Centre, located at 2340 Ontario Street, Bronte, Oakville.
The knowledgeable and charismatic Honourable Peter Mackay, Minister of National Defence will be featured at the Gala Dinner as keynote speaker. Also enjoy a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction and presentations by military bands – all in beautiful Bronte Harbour overlooking the outer marina and Lake Ontario. Plan to attend the Gala. Even better, sponsor a table or two! Have fun and raise funds for our broken soldiers and their families!

Events surrounding Canada Day create an opportunity to celebrate and support our Military Veterans, young and old; men and women who have put their lives, and those of their families, on the line for Canada.

The 2nd Annual Canada Day Hosts a Veteran Fishing Derby which is also a highlight for our Veterans. It will have over twenty five boats leaving from Bronte Harbour and Port Credit Harbour on Canada Day enabling our Veterans to enjoy a day of fishing on Lake Ontario.
This is also an excellent opportunity to sponsor or participate. For a $250.00 “contribution’, you can host a Military Veteran in the Fishing Derby. An exciting day on the waters of Lake Ontario and the opportunity to land a salmon or trout is an excellent way to express your appreciation for all that our Veterans have done for our country. There are several levels of Corporate Sponsorships available to help support our Veterans.
Both events acknowledge our Veterans service to Canada and raise money for very important programs which support our Military Veterans and their families, specifically the Military Families Resource Centres (MFRC’s). Show your appreciation and have a little fun while attending and contributing to these “Two signature events for one great cause!”

The events are designed to elevate the level of awareness of the contribution our Military Veterans have given to Canada, and have a little fun, while raising funds for Military Family Resource Centres (MFRC’s). MFRC’s are in dire need for funding for their extensive programs, which support our Military Veterans and their families in need of assistance. Everyone can participate at some level.
