Whole Foods Market Oakville is looking to exceed $30,000 in donations to FareShare Foodbank.

Whole Foods Market Oakville has launched the Feed 4 More program to support FareShare Foodbank this holiday season by allowing people to make cash donations at the registers to benefit the Foodbank.

Whole Foods Market Oakville has a history of supporting the Foodbank through its annual Holiday Greeting Card sales, the One Dime at a Time Program and Feed 4 More. “We are looking to surpass last year’s monetary donation of $30,013 and are well on our way through the generosity of our customers and team members” says France Fournier, Community Relations Specialist Whole Foods Market.

Throughout the month of December customers can support the foodbank through various initiatives in the store such as a cash donation at the register, purchasing a Holiday Greeting Card or enjoying a delicious holiday meal at the Dine & Give Fundraising Dinner on December 12. FareShare Foodbank receives no government funding and relies solely on the generosity of the Oakville community. Monetary donations are vital to the program and are used to purchase perishable food items. The Foodbank is run entirely by volunteers and on an average month will serve 357 families.

This year’s Greeting Card was designed by Joana Shishkova a student at E.J. James Public School featuring a festive illustration of a winter wonderland.

“The cards receive a great response from the community, one customer calls the store every year to have her boxed set put aside” says Fournier, “the card is beautiful and the donation will help two areas Whole Foods Market is passionate about, healthy eating and education.” The cards are now for sale, in time for you to send them to your family and friends this holiday season and to support this very worthwhile cause.” To-date card sales have generated over $1,000 donation to local schools and the FareShare Foodbank .

Dine and Give is also a great way to participate. Whole Foods Market Oakville will be hosting a buffet-style holiday meal featuring their favourite dishes. A minimum donation of $10.00 a plate will go directly to the Feed 4 More Campaign benefiting the foodbank. Save the date! December 12th 6-8pm. An RSVP is required at mw.oak.marketing@wholefoods.com.
