The Oakville Chamber of Commerce’s popular Lunch and Learn series featured speaker Niki Papaioannou, director of marketing for St. Louis Bar and Grill. Nominated for the prestigious Hostelry “Top 30 Under 30 Award,” Niki is a passionate marketer who enjoys motivating entrepreneurs to market their business.

Making your business “Stand Out” was her theme at the luncheon as she spoke about “Marketing your Business: What it takes to Survive and Thrive!” Niki described her methods for generating positive publicity and sentiments about your brand and strategies on how to plan your marketing initiatives to generate a great return on your investment of both time and money.

Knowledgeable, personable, enthusiastic and very successful, Niki Papaioannou worked for Boston Pizza International for five years as a regional marketing manager and now runs the marketing department for St Louis Bar & Grill which has 31 locations in Ontario and is set to open 12 more locations in 2012. “Devilishly Good” are the words she has chosen to describe the wings and ribs featured at St. Louis Bar and Grill and Niki is dedicated to spreading the word.

Niki’s visit to the Oakville Chamber of Commerce marked a return speaking engagement for the Chamber’s Lunch and Learn series. Both visits were well worth taking the time to attend! Niki studied at the University of Toronto and is happy to share the ideas and strategies she has gleaned from her time in the business.

To “Stand Out” from other businesses, Niki insists that you must be an “expert in your field” and over educate your employees. To do this, one must know “what the competition is doing wrong … and doing better!”… and then modify and change your business to “do better” than your competition! She suggests that you become a “customer” of your own business to learn how your customers are treated when they call you… and to always answer your phone. “Make working with you simple,” Niki shares. Go to where your customers are, get your brand out there and start the conversation! Wow your customers from beginning to the end. Always thank your referral business and be current. According to Niki Papaioannou, “Stand out!”
