Welcome to December, the month of holidays, food, and fun. Here are some ideas of what to do with the time.

December 14: 9am-12pm: Outreach Bake Sale: Looking for a tasty treat? Come out to St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church to support the church’s work with Kerr St. Ministries. For more information visit their website, or call: 905-844-6200.

December 15: 7-8pm: Carols from around the World: Come out to Walton Memorial Church and get a taste of carols from around the world sung by the adult, and youth choirs. For more information visit the church’s official website or call 905-827-1643. Cost for this one is a “free will offering.”

December17: 1:30-4pm: Exploring Art and Materials with Derik Hawley at C.J.’s Café in Bronte. Interested in Art? Come out to CJ’s café in Bronte. Areas covered will include: photography, pencil, and ink drawing. Cost is $20, and this class is available on a pay-as-you-go basis. Pre-register by emailing: dhawley@cogeco.ca

December 21: 7:30-9pm: Handel’s Messiah: St. John’s United Church presents Handel’s Messiah. Bring the family out to experience the seasonal tradition that speaks to the spiritual side in all of us. St. John’s United Church is located at 262 Randall St. Oakville.

December 24: Candle Light Christmas Eve Mass: A yearly tradition at St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church returns including the eucharist, and a performance by the choir.

December 25: Take time out for friends and family, and enjoy Christmas Day.

December 28: 2-3:30pm Cinderella: A Holiday Pantomime: The Burl-Oak Theatre group presents their first pantomime at the Oakville Centre for the Arts. Tickets are: $20 for adults, $15 for children. They’re available by calling: 905-815-2021 or visiting their website

December 31: 6-9:30pm: Skate and Coyote howl end your 2013 with skating
, hot chocolate, and a hike to learn more about this mysterious night-time creature. It’s $16/ car, for more information visit their website, or call: 905-827-6911.
