Your advice is outdated.

Security experts in general agree that choosing a good password is far more important than changing it regularly. (See Bruce Schneier - http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2010/11/changing_passwo.html) You gloss over this part, and in fact give atrocious advice (your 'super-complex' password is a dictionary word with common substitutions that would be near the top of any cracking program's list). Furthermore, as humorously illustrated by xkcd (http://xkcd.com/936/), you're better off choosing a much longer password consisting of random words, mathematically speaking - easier to remember and harder for computers to guess.

Years of policies forcing people to change passwords regularly just make people choose less secure passwords with -- for most applications -- no increase in security. (A hacker with your banking password is not going to sit on it for a month - once he gets it, it's already too late).

Furthermore, it seems that most password compromises are a result of phishing attacks or malware infections, in which case it doesn't matter how complex your password is or how often you change it, since you're just handing over a current password to the attacker yourself.

This is an excellent article.

I would love to get your take and recommendation on the various password managers, in particular, the Kaspersky Password Manager. There are three perspectives that I would like to hear about.

1. Ease of use
2. Security
3. Can any Password Manager provide automatic assistance with the weekly or monthly change of your passwords.

Great work Mitch.

How can the people responsible for a 6.7% increase sleep at night.. No one possibly justify such and increase. Is the population growing at an increase of 6.7% annually? Are we attacking new business to our area at the same rate.

Your salary increases of 3% annually is ridiculous. Private sector employees have not enjoyed those types of increase for years and yet you continue to dole out salary adjustments year after year.

It is time so start showing some fiscal responsibility. Instead of continually adding staff to Oakville it is time to do what every other community is doing and shed some layers of management

Can you fill us in on the upcoming March Break Activities in and around Oakville this year. I am specifically looking for things that the parents can do with the kids and not drop offs or camps.

Thanks

I met Johannes the first time when I treated his fractured little finger in 2009 and had a chance to witness his extraordinary and magic performance on stage at Lula Lounge two weeks later. Johannes's music is so inspiring, uplifting and enlightening that my patients enjoy it during each therapy treatment session and subsequently bought the CDs. Johannes is a talented guitarist and composer and is well known in Europe and in the US. As an Oakviller, I'm happy to see Johannes perform more frequently in Oakville and the GTA so that more Ontarians have a taste of his beautiful and gifted music. Johannes teaches Kundalini Yoga at my clinic every Sunday and is an inspiring mental and spiritual coach for his students. His music reflects his spiritual mind and soul and yet he can inspire all to get to the dance floor to Salsa and Cha Cha whenever he performs with his group on stage. We are proud to have such a great talent in Oakville.

I have followed Johannes for a few years and have enjoyed all of his music. He has such a beautiful musical soul that seems to flow from the strings of his guitar that captures you. I have just started following his yoga class and it is such a peaceful meditation that everyone needs to experience. Enjoy one of Johannes' concerts...it will keep you wanting more.
Kindest regards,
Vicki
