Canada Day Fun For the Whole Family

Excitement is in the air as Bronte Oakville prepares for Oakville’s Canada Day celebration; a free all day family festival to be held Sunday July 1st at the Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park at Bronte Road and Ontario Street from 11:30 am to 11pm.

Brought to you by over 200 business merchants of Bronte Village Harbour Business Improvement Area, better known as the Bronte BIA, this annual tradition will welcome over 50,000 people who will come to enjoy the celebrations, the fireworks and the beautiful Bronte Village Tourist Area By the Lake!

Bronte Village, in southwest Oakville, is dressed and ready to celebrate this special occasion. Lakeshore Road is lined with bright Canadian Flags, flying in the breezes from Lake Ontario, and beautiful baskets of flowers, welcoming visitors. Come down to Bronte Village By the Lake, Oakville. Stay awhile! Shop, Eat and enjoy a walk on the pier. You too will feel the excitement that is in store for each one of us on Canada Day. Get ready for the party of the summer!

The highlight of Canada Day is always the magnificent Fireworks display at dusk launched from a huge barge parked off the Bronte Pier. This year the fireworks celebration will also be a Live radio simulcast on K-Lite 102.9.

I Love Canada

Throughout the Canada Day day-time festivities there will be fun activities for children of all ages including; Giant bouncies, a paddle boat lagoon (a nominal charge), a Safari Science Reptile Show and the opportunity to paint the twenty foot RBC Canada Day Monster Mural. Visit merchants in the Vendor’s Village offering you wares of every description.

Bronte is also known for its delightful spas and wellness professionals. Many of these Bronte Village businesses will be on hand to give you a glimpse of the services they have to offer. Foods from around the world will feature tasty treats from the varied food service vendors, including great Bronte restaurants, as well as the ever popular Kinsmen’s Beer and Burger Garden.

Listen to live music all day at the Cogeco Community Stage on Bronte Road and on the Main Stage in the Bronte’s Heritage Park. This year’s headliners are Glory Days, a Bruce Springsteen tribute band, the Fraser Melvin Blues Band and Bronte’s own Fiddlestix. In addition, there will be demonstrations by the talented participants of the Belly Up Belly Dance Studio and Morningstar Martial Arts.

The entertainment will continue after the fireworks. Stay and enjoy the music and the lake until the traffic has cleared and make the drive home less stressful!
To make your parking easy, you can ride the Canada Day “Free –First Student Bus Services” for visitors, departing at 6pm from the Burloak RioCAN Centre just south of the QEW. The shuttle will run from the park until midnight from the cenotaph on Lakeshore Road across from Walton United Church.

The Bronte BIA wishes to thank all its sponsors: Town of Oakville, Heritage Canada, Cogeco, Willson International, Bio K, and Lockwood Chrysler. Their generous support makes this one of the premier Canada Day events in the province and throughout Canada.
