Bundle up, bring a chair, and head down to Centriller Square on Lakeshore Rd. (opposite Sobey’s at Centriller Square Plaza). Experience the mirth and merriment of an old-fashioned Bronte Christmas during Bronte Village’s Annual Open House & Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 24. from 3-6:30 pm.
Look for the merry windows with RED balloons indicating the Bronte businesses that are hosting an Open House between noon and 3pm. Participating businesses around the village will be offering refreshments, samplings, unique demonstrations, giveaways, special offers and great gift ideas all day along with impromptu caroling in and out of the stores and on the street. Explore, celebrate, shop and dine in Bronte Harbour Village.
At 3:00 pm, gather the family at Centriller Square to await the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Capture the magic with photos of your children in Santa’s lap or dancing with Santa for that once in a lifetime memory. Kids can also enjoy holiday crafts and a ‘make and take away treasure’ courtesy of www.momstown.ca. Enjoy festive treats from Denninger’s Foods of the World and from other participating Bronte BIA businesses.
Take time to shop some great early sales and warm up indoors at one of Bronte’s excellent eateries with mulled cider, festive treats or whatever your heart desires.
At 4pm, be in best voice to enjoy old favourites and music of the season all afternoon with performances by the Oakville School of Music and Performing Arts, featuring the voices of Vanessa Ciofani, Emily Smith and Jessica Tan, Morgan Lalonde and Elyse Bryan, and Alexandra Lazenkas.
At 5pm. join in the carolling with the magnificent acapella voices of the 60+ person Tempus Choral Society. Directed by Brian Turnbull, the chorus repertoire features a variety of music from Jazz to Sacred.
At approximately 5:20 join Bronte BIA Chair Mary Roberts, BIA Executive Director Ann Sargent and Town and Regional Councillor Alan Johnston in the countdown to the tree-lighting of the huge Christmas tree at Centriller Square. Round out the merriment by raising your voice in chorus with the Tempus Choral Society in singing rousing carols to conclude the festivities and to officially ring in the holiday season in Bronte Village.
