The 18th Annual Niagara Icewine Festival starts today. For the next three weeks from January 12-27th, the Niagara Region is transformed into a wintry wonderland celebrating one of Canada’s most cherished products, Ontario Icewine.
Check out the Twenty Valley Winter Winefest on the streets of Jordan Village on January 12th from 11 am – 10 pm and January 13th from 11 am – 6 pm. The event features over 80 amazing Twenty Valley VQA red, white and sparkling wines as well as Icewines from 35 wineries. You can also look forward to celebrity chef demonstrations, winemaker’s challenges, amazing ice sculptures, fashion shows and an unforgettable evening street party with live musical entertainment. Every weekend throughout the festival visit one of Canada’s loveliest towns, Niagara-on-the-Lake to enjoy the local Icewine celebrations. Located on historic Queen Street, local wineries will be serving up local Icewine and culinary pairings to the swinging sounds of Canadian Jazz from 12-5 pm. On Friday January 25th check out Winterfest in Market Square, located in downtown St. Catharines. Try the vast array of delectable VQA wines, gourmet cuisine and live entertainment from 5 – 9 pm.
You can also tour local wineries individually or, wine lovers might want to consider picking up an Icewine Festival Discovery Pass. It’s a $40 ticket to enjoy your choice of eight wine and culinary experiences at wineries throughout the Niagara Region.
